The core function is to engage in research activities (such as projects, conferences and publications) that reconceptualise a new form and language for citizenship education that challenges and theorises perpetuating social (justice) issues.
The members of the group have done this with a focus on research in: decolonisation, posthumanism, and various innovative combinations of transcendental pragmatism, phenomenology, as well as post-structuralist epistemology.
We recognize that we live in a world where human as well as non- and more than-human life form complex assemblages that require our urgent attention. A non-anthropocentric gaze is needed to understand these times of crises:
disease, war, xenophobia, (de)coloniality, technological advancements, environmental crises, sustainability, as well as academic freedom and institutional autonomy that is under threat in the neoliberal university.
