Background

My research background is grounded in Accounting Education, Business Studies Education, curriculum studies and teacher development. I completed a Master of Education in Education and Curriculum Studies at the University of Johannesburg, where I conducted qualitative research into learners’ choice of Accounting as a subject in the Further Education and Training (FET) phase. The study explored the factors influencing learners’ decisions to select or not select Accounting and examined possible strategies for addressing barriers to Accounting subject choice.

My research interests have since expanded to include curriculum reform, Entrepreneurship Education, entrepreneurial skills development, teaching and learning in Commerce Education, teacher instructional practices, and the development of learners’ entrepreneurial self-efficacy, knowledge and skills. I am currently pursuing doctoral research in Education, with a particular interest in how curriculum and instructional practices can contribute to preparing learners for meaningful economic participation and self-reliance.

My research experience includes qualitative research, case study methodology, literature reviews, data generation and analysis, academic writing, and the dissemination of research findings through scholarly publications and academic presentations.
