Sandiso Sakhile Gift Ncube is involved in research on a folklore-based pedagogy to improve reading comprehension in the Intermediate Phase (IP) English Home Language (EHL) classrooms. He is also a secondary researcher member of a Community-Based Education Research (COMBER) entity at NWU. Sandiso and his team are leading a service-learning project to improve literacies pedagogies in the IP in English language education. Lastly, Mr Ncube serves at the South African Education Research Association (SAERA) as the deputy executive secretary since January 2026, and at the NWU faculty of education board in the junior lecturer category since August 2025.
