Simon A. Tachie is a senior lecturer in mathematics education in the school of mathematics, science and technology education at Northwest university’s Potchefstroom campus. His research interest is in the area of teachers and learners use of metacognitive skills and strategies in mathematics problem-solving; TPACK, metacognition and pedagogy, including the use of ICT’s (computers) in teaching and learning of mathematics, the impact of in-service teachers’ community engagement programme, teacher collaboration in mathematics teaching and teachers’ attitude towards lesson study as well as blended teaching and learning in schools.
